OpenAI将在欧盟为AI生成文本添加不可见水印
OpenAI于10月5日宣布，为遵守欧盟《人工智能法案》的透明度规则，将在未来数周内面向欧盟地区所有套餐的ChatGPT和Codex用户推出不可见文本水印。该规则于8月2日生效，要求AI公司以其他系统可识别的方式标记AI生成内容。
OpenAI表示，全球API开发者即日起可为部分模型开启文本水印功能，该功能默认关闭，且此次未将文本水印设为全球默认。水印并非实际符号，而是通过微妙调整模型的用词选择，留下读者不可见但检测器可识别的模式，并会随文本的复制粘贴一并传播。公司称，水印不会识别用户身份，启用后模型性能没有明显变化。
与此同时，OpenAI发布了与宾夕法尼亚大学和耶鲁大学研究人员合作撰写的技术报告textGrain。根据OpenAI的测试，编辑文本可能削弱水印检测效果，例如将10%的词语替换为同义词后，检测率从约92%降至66%；短文、数学答案和翻译文本则更难被检测。因此，检测器初始阶段仅向经批准的研究人员和专家组织开放。OpenAI同时提醒，缺少水印并不意味着文本由人类撰写。
此前，Anthropic已于8月宣布为其Claude生成文本添加水印，并面向全球应用。OpenAI曾在更早时候构建过文本水印，但因担忧用户转向不加水印的竞争对手而暂缓发布。
