Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang Says Cybersecurity Is Next Major AI Opportunity
Speaking at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference in San Francisco on Sept. 10, 2026, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said cybersecurity is likely to become the next major application area for AI.
Huang pointed out that AI models are accelerating automated programming, which is disrupting the cybersecurity industry: faster code generation also means code can be exploited and attacked more quickly, and vulnerabilities requiring fixes will increase.
He also addressed Nvidia's roughly $13 billion acquisition of AI startup Hugging Face. Denying concerns about "circular investment," Huang said Nvidia has visibility into the underlying needs of its customers. He added that before deploying company capital, he needs to see a "sure-win deal" - one where customers are already queuing up to use the product or service.
Huang also reiterated that Nvidia continues to benefit from large-scale spending on AI data centers, while the industry demands evidence that such capital expenditures can generate economic value.
