SK Hynix posts record Q3 revenue above 100 trillion won, expects HBM4 to surpass HBM3E in Q4
SK Hynix reported record third-quarter results on October 28, with quarterly revenue exceeding 100 trillion won for the first time. Revenue reached 104.62 trillion won (about $78.86 billion), up 327.9% year on year and 31.9% quarter on quarter. Operating profit came in at 83.33 trillion won, up 632.1% year on year and 37.6% quarter on quarter, with an operating margin near 80% and net profit of 39.78 trillion won.
As a key supplier of high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chips to Nvidia, SK Hynix said growth was driven by sales of HBM4 for AI processors and server DDR5 memory. The company expects HBM4 shipments and revenue to surpass HBM3E in the fourth quarter of 2026. It also said memory demand is expected to outpace supply through 2030 and has signed long-term agreements with 14 major customers covering more than 50% of its capacity for 2027 and 2028.
The company expects capital expenditure to increase significantly in 2027 compared with 2026, as its Yongin Phase 1 fab comes online in 2027 and infrastructure investment at home and abroad progresses. SK Hynix also plans to return about 100 trillion won to shareholders in 2026, including at least 30 trillion won in cash dividends and at least 60 trillion won in share buybacks and cancellations.
