SemiAnalysis Reports ~75GW of Firm Behind-the-Meter Power Orders for AI Compute

SemiAnalysis has released a new report indicating that behind-the-meter power projects for AI compute have secured approximately 75GW of firm orders globally, with about 20GW added in the second quarter of 2026. Behind-the-meter power typically refers to generation or storage facilities deployed on the user side, such as on-site gas turbines and battery systems. The report notes that natural gas power and energy storage solutions are rapidly entering large-scale AI infrastructure projects.
