At its annual Developer Conference (RDC) held on September 12, 2026, Roblox unveiled a range of platform updates spanning creation tools, NPC capabilities, cross-platform distribution, and creator-focused financial products. The company is expanding its generative AI game creation feature “Build” to Serbia and Singapore, adding desktop access, a new asset library, and iterative control. Previously available only in New Zealand, Build lets users create games through natural language prompts.

Creators will soon be able to publish their games as standalone apps on mobile, PC, and consoles, powered by Roblox’s engine. By the end of 2026, players will be able to join games in-browser via a link. Roblox also introduced new NPC capabilities, including NPCs that can playtest games later this year, as well as an offline mode for weak-network environments.

On the financial side, Roblox launched Roblox Wallet, allowing creators to receive real-money earnings by the end of each business day and transfer funds to bank accounts. The wallet is initially offered to U.S. users aged 18 and older in partnership with Airwallex, with global expansion planned. Roblox Card is slated for 2027, letting users spend their earnings at merchants that accept the card.

Roblox said game creators have earned more than $5 billion on the platform since 2013, including $1.7 billion over the past 12 months. CEO David Baszucki noted that players spent over 29 billion hours in the second quarter of 2026 across 180 countries.
