Huawei Unveils Next-Generation Ascend Supernode at Shanghai Summit
At the Ascend AI Industry Summit held during Huawei Connect 2026 in Shanghai on September 17, Huawei announced that its next-generation Ascend supernode is about to be officially launched.
The Ascend supernode features ultra-high bandwidth, ultra-low latency, and unified memory addressing across physical nodes, and has already been deployed at scale. The upcoming new generation is designed to meet the computing demands of large-scale data center construction, trillion-scale model training, and high-concurrency inference in data centers.
The summit also hosted an Ascend MVP appointment ceremony, honoring experts who have made outstanding contributions to AI technology innovation and the Ascend ecosystem. Customers and partners shared practices on large-model training and inference, Agentic AI, and embodied intelligence based on Ascend supernodes.
The exhibition area showcased the Atlas 950 SuperPoD liquid-cooled supernode, the Atlas 850E air-cooled supernode, and Ascend supernode system software. A book signing for "The Rise of Ascend" was also held after the summit.
