Strong Collaboration: TeraWulf Joins Forces with Anthropic to Build a New AI Computing Power Hub of Billions

By AI123
A major new collaboration has emerged in the competitive AI computing power market. Energy infrastructure company TeraWulf has entered into a deep strategic agreement with AI giant Anthropic to collaborate long-term on high-performance data centers, addressing the rising demand for AI model training. Central to the collaboration is a 20-year data center lease agreement. TeraWulf's "Justified Data" site in Hawesville, Kentucky, will serve as a key computing base for Anthropic. The ambitious project has a maximum capacity of 401 megawatts and is expected to become operational in the second half of 2027, reaching full capacity by early 2028. Given the surge in AI computing demand, the collaboration is expected to generate approximately $19 billion in long-term contract revenue for TeraWulf, becoming a key growth driver in its business portfolio. Simultaneously, TeraWulf is optimizing its asset allocation by agreeing to sell a majority stake in its Texas-based Abernathy project to an investor consortium led by Fluidstack. The project has a total capacity of 168 megawatts, and TeraWulf will transfer 50.1% of its interest, aiming to reallocate resources more efficiently toward strategically valuable business segments. These actions mark TeraWulf's accelerated transformation into an AI infrastructure service provider. By establishing the Kentucky project as a long-term computing power engine and flexibly optimizing the equity structure of the Texas project, TeraWulf ensures financial stability while embracing the infrastructure dividends of the AI wave. The completion of this super data center in 2027 could reshape the global AI computing power landscape.
