New Milestone in Domestic Computing Power: Meituan's LongCat-2.0 Large Model is Officially Open Sourced

On July 6th, a major advancement in artificial intelligence took place as Meituan officially open-sourced its foundational large model, LongCat-2.0. The industry views this move as a key breakthrough in applying domestic computing power to AI large models. As the first foundational large model trained and inferred entirely on domestic computing chips, LongCat-2.0 showcases exceptional technical capability. Officially released on June 30th, the model’s training and inference processes were successfully carried out on a domestic computing cluster of 50,000 cards, demonstrating the stability and high performance of domestic chips when handling trillion-parameter-level models. To foster an inclusive and progressive technology ecosystem, Meituan adopted a comprehensive open-source strategy. On July 6th, the model weights, inference engine, and detailed technical documentation were simultaneously released on major developer platforms such as GitHub, Hugging Face, and ModelScope. Notably, the model is distributed under the MIT open-source license, allowing developers and companies to use it for commercial purposes free of charge, significantly lowering the barrier for small and medium-sized enterprises to adopt cutting-edge AI. The domestic chip ecosystem responded quickly. On the same day, three domestic chip manufacturers—Huawei Ascend, MoLeLineage, and Muxi Technologies—jointly announced that they had completed inference adaptation for LongCat-2.0. This collaborative effort not only validated the model’s compatibility with domestic hardware but also signaled the rapid maturation of a software-hardware synergy ecosystem combining domestic chips and domestic large models. This open-source initiative is more than a concentrated demonstration of technical capability; it provides a solid foundation for China's AI industry to achieve self-reliance and control. By building a complete open-source ecosystem, the initiative enables more developers to participate in optimizing and applying LongCat-2.0. As a result, China’s domestic AI power is expected to strengthen its voice in international competition.
