Create any app in minutes by chatting with AI.
Glaze, developed by Raycast, is a macOS-native application that reimagines desktop software creation. It allows users to build fully functional Mac apps by simply chatting with an AI agent, transforming natural language descriptions into real, installable software in minutes. Glaze is engineered for the modern desktop: apps are local-first, meaning they run directly on your machine without requiring a server or an internet connection. With the requirement of macOS Tahoe and Apple Silicon, Glaze leverages the full power of Apple's operating system while ensuring fast, private, and responsive app experiences. Whether you are building personal utilities, team tools, or creative experiments, Glaze turns ideas into working apps with an elegant, opinionated design that is beautiful by default and customizable when you need it.
At the core of Glaze is an intelligent agent that guides you from the first idea to the finished product. You can describe your desired app in plain language, and the agent builds it for you. For users who prefer external AI models, Glaze supports bring-your-own-agent integration: by signing in with the Claude CLI, you can connect your Claude subscription and use those models in the model picker, alongside Glaze's own models. During the Beta, runs on your subscription do not consume Glaze credits and are unlimited on Glaze's side, subject only to Claude's usage limits. The development process is deeply iterative; you can annotate changes directly in your app and send them back to the agent, enabling a conversational workflow for refining functionality. Glaze apps are not sandboxed web pages—they are true desktop applications with access to your file system, keyboard shortcuts, menu bar integration, background processes, and any API or service you choose to connect. You own the apps you build, including the code and content.
Glaze is a distinct alternative to browser-based app builders such as Lovable, Replit, or v0. While those platforms focus on web applications, Glaze builds for the desktop, meaning your apps can deeply integrate with the operating system and keep your data on your machine. This opens up use cases such as internal tools for teams, personal productivity dashboards, menu bar utilities, workflow automations, and one-off scripts that make daily life easier. Sharing your creations is simple: anyone with Glaze installed and an account can run apps you share, and they are not required to be paid subscribers. You can publish to the public Glaze Store or create a private Team Store for distribution within your organization. The Pro plan adds unlisted publishing for one-on-one sharing. With the Glaze Store, you can also discover and install apps built by the community, ranging from daily-life trackers to design development tools. Glaze is made for Mac first, with Windows and Linux support planned down the road.
