World Robot Climbing Competition on Mount Tai Set for October 29
The first CMG World Robot Climbing Mount Tai Competition was announced at a press conference held in Tai'an, Shandong, on September 10. The event will take place on October 29, with live streaming on key new media platforms of China Media Group, including CCTV News and CCTV Sports.
The competition features two main tracks, four official race categories and one special challenge, covering humanoid, legged, exoskeleton and other robot forms. The speed track includes humanoid and legged robot races, with the humanoid course running from Wanxian Tower to Hutian Pavilion, about 2.6 kilometers with over 1,800 steps. The legged robot race covers approximately 3.2 kilometers and 2,800 steps from Wanxian Tower to Zhongtian Gate. The special track includes a load-carrying race for legged robots and an exoskeleton assistance race. A cross-country challenge is open to wheeled, tracked and other complex-configuration robots.
From mid-September, teams will be able to conduct on-site testing. The track will be available for scheduled test sessions before the race, with a centralized test and qualifying round organized one week prior. The route follows the existing visitor trail, with a relatively gentle first half and a notable elevation rise in the second half.
