Bosch Ventures Invests in Robotics Company Asylon to Strengthen Autonomous Security
Bosch Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of Bosch Group, has announced an investment in Asylon, a U.S.-based robotics company focused on security, inspection and monitoring. The investment aims to strengthen protection of critical infrastructure through autonomous AI systems and extends an existing technology partnership involving the Boston Dynamics ecosystem.
Asylon, headquartered in Norristown, U.S., develops aerial and ground robots designed for long-term patrol tasks. Its systems can automatically respond to security alerts and transmit on-site information, enabling faster threat identification and shortened emergency response. The company's DroneIQ platform has been integrated into Bosch Building Technologies' security solutions. When a security event is detected, an autonomous inspection process is triggered: Guardian drones handle aerial missions while DroneDog, a ground robot built on Boston Dynamics' Spot platform, performs ground checks.
Ingo Rames, co-managing director of Bosch Ventures, said Asylon demonstrates the potential of physical AI technologies to improve the safety and efficiency of critical processes. The solution is not meant to replace human security teams but to expand their capabilities through mobile systems.
Asylon is expanding its technology into autonomous operations across manufacturing, logistics, energy, data centers, aerospace and defense. According to the company, its robot systems have completed more than 400,000 missions with a total autonomous travel distance exceeding 400,000 kilometers. CEO Damon Henry said Bosch, as a long-time technology partner, will help Asylon scale its solutions for global customers.
