Huawei Cloud Unveils Agent-Centric Hybrid Cloud Architecture Next
At the Huawei Cloud Summit held during HUAWEI CONNECT 2026 on September 17, Gu Xuejun, President of Huawei Hybrid Cloud, delivered a keynote on the company's agent-era strategy. He introduced Huawei Cloud Stack's All for AI initiative, which upgrades capabilities across cloud infrastructure, data, AI, and ecosystem, and unveiled a new agent-oriented hybrid cloud architecture called Next, setting goals such as raising computing power utilization from 30% to 70%.
According to Gu, the rise of intelligent agents is driving three fundamental changes: business execution is shifting from human-operated applications to human-machine collaboration and agent-to-agent interaction; resource provisioning is moving from layer-by-layer assembly to integrated capability delivery for agent tasks; and management focus is expanding from traditional IT resources to new intelligent elements such as computing power, data, models, and agents.
To address these trends, Huawei Cloud launched the agent-oriented hybrid cloud architecture Next, featuring an agile cloud infrastructure, an AI-native capability hub for data, computing and tokens, an agent-native enablement platform, and full-lifecycle operations and security capabilities. Gu said that a deterministic hybrid cloud architecture is the path for enterprises to achieve digital and intelligent transformation in the next three to five years.
Huawei Cloud Stack's evolution covers four areas. On infrastructure, Agentic Infra supports A5 supernodes and uses NPU pooling and memory snapshot technology to improve computing power utilization from 30% to 70%. On data, technologies such as AI DataLake and DataArts enable end-to-end data management and turn data into intelligent productivity. On AI, the company continues to invest in foundation models and domain-specific models, and has open-sourced the openJiuwen agent platform to improve development efficiency. On ecosystem, Huawei Cloud is working with partners to build an industry AI dream factory for scenarios such as smart finance and smart government.
Gu said Huawei Cloud Stack will continue to adhere to the All for AI approach, increasing investment in Agentic Infra, data and AI, and working with partners to build an open ecosystem that helps enterprises put AI into production.
