Cognition Debuts SWE-2, Claims Frontier-Level Benchmark Scores at Up to 70% Lower Cost

By AI123

Cognition has unveiled SWE-2, calling it its closest model yet to the frontier. The company said the model scores on par with recent frontier models on leading benchmarks, at up to 70% lower cost.

According to Cognition, the team scaled reinforcement learning to multiple trillions of parameters and refined its training recipe to push the Pareto curve across both capability and cost.

Cognition's Silas Alberti said demand for SWE-2 in Desktop and CLI has been unprecedented, and that the company secured additional compute. The company is making SWE-2 in Devin Cloud free for Pro, Max, and Teams subscribers until October 8, 2026.
