Jensen Huang: AI Code Prediction Was Wrong, Engineering Is Next Battlefield
By AI123
On September 19, 2026, NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang appeared on the All-In Summit podcast and revisited an earlier prediction about AI code generation. He said the forecast that 90% of code would be generated by AI within six to twelve months had turned out to be wrong.
Huang noted that when that prediction was made, coding agents were not as capable as they are today. There was also a claim that AI would eliminate 50% of junior positions within six to nine months. Over time, agents have indeed become more powerful, but programmers have not been replaced. He said superintelligence has arrived, and the next stage of AI competition will center on engineering capability.
