Infineon and Skeleton Sign MoU to Develop Solid-State Transformers for AI Data Centers

On September 21, Infineon and Skeleton signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly advance technologies including solid-state transformers (SST) and high-power side-mounted energy storage units.

Solid-state transformers are power-electronic devices that enable voltage conversion and power control. Against the backdrop of rapid AI growth and rising electricity demand in data centers, SSTs and high-power side-mounted energy storage units are becoming key components of AI data center infrastructure, supporting power conversion from the grid to the core and improving system resilience.

The collaboration is aimed at optimizing energy efficiency and system performance across the power supply chain.
