Alibaba's New Panjiu Supernode AI Server to Launch in Q1 2027

By AI123

At the 2026 Apsara Conference, Alibaba announced that its new Panjiu supernode server, powered by T-Head's Zhenwu V900, ICN Switch, Panmai, and Zhenyue chips, will be available in the first quarter of 2027.

The Zhenwu V900 is a training-and-inference AI chip with 3x the compute performance of the Zhenwu M890, supporting 216GB memory, 1200GB/s inter-chip interconnect, and FP8/FP4 precision. The new Panjiu supernode server integrates multiple in-house chips for large-scale AI training and inference workloads.

Separately, Alibaba Cloud's Lingjun Zhenwu M890 supernode instance GP9A is now publicly available, marking China's first supernode computing form successfully running large language models with over 2 trillion parameters. T-Head also teased its next-generation AI chip, the Zhenwu J900, featuring a revamped parallel computing architecture, with mass availability planned for March 2028.
