Meta unveils Charm, a Tamagotchi-style gadget powered by Muse AI

By AI123

At its Connect event on September 24, 2026, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg unveiled Charm, a new device that resembles a Tamagotchi but contains the company's Muse AI instead of a digital pet. Meta is a US-based technology company whose businesses span social platforms, AI and hardware.

During the demo, Zuckerberg showed that tapping the fingerprint sensor on the corner of the device wakes the Muse AI for interaction. The screen displays a small animated and interchangeable avatar as the visual representation of Muse. Meta says it packed the full Muse experience, including the real-time voice and avatar stack, into a form factor that fits on a keychain and is always available for conversation.

The company has not yet finalized the Charm's components and design, and has built only a few units so far. Meta is aiming to have the device ready to ship before the holiday season in December 2026. Zuckerberg did not go into further detail at the event, but said more information would be shared soon.
