Tencent Launches Hy Translate App With Support for 33 Languages

On September 24, Tencent Hunyuan announced the launch of the Tencent Hy Translate app, which is also available through a mini-program, a plugin, and a PC client.

The app is powered by the Tencent Hunyuan Hy-MT2 translation model and supports translation across 33 languages, including five Chinese minority languages and dialects. It offers voice translation, photo translation, and offline translation. In offline mode, users can download the translation model to their phones in advance and continue using it without a network connection or in areas with poor signals.

The app is now available in 12 countries and regions, including the United States, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, and China's Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan regions.

Hy-MT2 was open-sourced in May 2026 and supports translation across 33 languages as well as five minority languages and dialects. Compared with the previous Hy-MT1.5, it shows notable improvements in multilingual instruction following, professional translation, and real-world translation scenarios.
