Meta Hires Former MongoDB CEO to Lead Enterprise AI Platform

Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced on September 28, 2026 the launch of Meta Enterprise Platform, a business aimed at helping companies use artificial intelligence to achieve growth and transformation. Zuckerberg described the platform as the next major pillar of Meta’s overall business.

Meta Enterprise Platform will combine Meta’s strengths in models, agents, infrastructure and partnerships to provide businesses and developers with access to Meta’s AI technology stack. Chirantan “CJ” Desai, former CEO and president of MongoDB, will join Meta as chief enterprise platform officer, leading the platform and reporting directly to Zuckerberg.

MongoDB also said that former president and CEO Dev Ittycheria will return to temporarily assume both roles, and a search for the next permanent CEO is under way.
