Synopsys, Amazon Sign $1B+ Custom Chip IP Deal

On September 30, Synopsys announced a multi-year strategic agreement with Amazon for custom chip IP, with a total value exceeding $1 billion (approximately 6.718 billion yuan). The partnership now extends into cloud and AI-enabled engineering R&D.

Under the agreement, Synopsys will provide chip IP and AI-driven engineering software solutions to accelerate the development of Amazon's custom chips and AWS infrastructure. Synopsys will also use AWS services to speed up its own product iteration and work with Amazon to deeply optimize its software tools for Trainium and Graviton chips.

In addition, Synopsys engineering teams will adopt Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) and Amazon Bedrock across their workflows to improve development efficiency for its cutting-edge products.
