JetBrains Junie Local Adds Day 0 Support for NVIDIA RTX Spark, Windows Support Now Stable

By AI123

On Oct 16, JetBrains announced that its local AI coding tool Junie Local now offers Day 0 support for NVIDIA's RTX Spark platform, while Windows support has been upgraded from experimental to stable. Users can let the AI read code, modify files, and run tests on qualifying PCs, according to the company.

JetBrains said the tool requires no registration or subscription, charges no token fees, imposes no usage quotas, and does not require code to be uploaded to the cloud. In initial tests on RTX Spark, Junie Local reached generation speeds of up to 55 tokens per second.

Hardware support has also been expanded. In addition to RTX Spark devices, PCs with RTX GPUs that have at least 24GB of VRAM and use the Ampere architecture or newer can run the tool, including the RTX 3090, RTX 4090, and the 32GB RTX 5090. The system needs a matching Windows 11 build, NVIDIA driver 581 or later, and about 20GB of free disk space.

The new installer automatically checks the GPU and driver, deploys the model, and adjusts context capacity based on available GPU memory to retain more code and conversation history. Users can choose Qwen3.6-27B or the fused model provided by JetBrains.
