Resolight.ai Endorses APC CPO Spec for Nanosecond OCS in AI Networks

By AI123

On October 20, 2026, Resolight.ai voiced support for the co-packaged optics (CPO) specifications released by the Advanced Photonics Coalition (APC) at the Optica + APC PECC Summit. The company said the specifications establish a standards foundation for native photon routing through nanosecond optical circuit switching (OCS) in AI data planes.

Resolight.ai said its architecture targets up to 40x better network energy efficiency and 75% fewer optical transceivers in multi-rack AI scale-up networks, which could lower the cost of delivering AI workloads. The company also noted that reducing transceiver requirements could ease optical supply constraints as AI infrastructure expands.

CEO and co-founder Ofer Shapiro called the APC CPO specification an important milestone, saying it addresses not only photonic engines but also the data-plane integration needed to make nanosecond native photon routing a practical alternative to electronic data switching.
