Anthropic Reportedly Plans $750B Spending on Computing Infrastructure
Anthropic PBC reportedly plans to invest up to $750 billion in computing infrastructure over the next several years, easing recent market concerns over high AI valuations and funding pressure.
The company, which focuses on artificial intelligence research, made no official announcement, but the reported plan drew attention amid a broader rally in AI-related stocks. SpaceX posted strong quarterly results, with AI revenue surging 830% year over year and becoming its largest revenue stream for the first time. Super Micro Computer also beat analyst estimates by 27% in preliminary quarterly revenue, rising about 15% in premarket trading.
Meanwhile, rising oil prices capped market optimism. Brent crude approached $110 per barrel amid threats to vessels near the Strait of Hormuz, while U.S. crude inventories fell by 4.9 million barrels. Netflix fell about 6% premarket after its fourth-quarter revenue guidance and ad revenue missed expectations.
