Apple Creative Studio adds AI features and MotionVFX in November update
Apple announced on October 27, 2026 a major update to its Creative Studio subscription, adding professional tools and several new AI capabilities. Final Cut Pro for Mac now includes MotionVFX directly in the app, with visual effects, plugins, transitions, templates and motion graphics tools, along with a content library of Apple-curated footage and images. Pixelmator Pro, Keynote, Pages and Numbers are gaining multiple AI feature betas. Keynote also adds support for the Keynote Interchange Format (.keyx), an open JSON-based package format, and gains MCP support, allowing external AI agents and tools to read and edit content, as well as automate tasks in the apps. The Creative Studio update will be available as a free download via the App Store in November 2026.
The update also improves cross-app workflows. Editors can open any image from the Final Cut Pro timeline directly in Pixelmator Pro, with changes automatically saved back to the project. Motion now comes with a set of MotionVFX plugins for cinematic color grading, 3D camera tracking and one-click selections. Compressor adds support for encoding video shot in Cinematic mode on iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo. Logic Pro for Mac and iPad features a new Liquid Glass design and uses the on-device audio analysis tool Music Understanding to automatically analyze, classify and tag added sounds. The app's stem splitter has also been upgraded to separate, replace or rebalance drum parts without the original multitrack. Freeform gains text styles and customizable or preset board backgrounds, and will support editing images directly in Pixelmator Pro in December 2026.
Apple Creative Studio will be updated for free in November. New subscribers pay 38 yuan per month or 380 yuan per year, with a one-month free trial. Students and educational staff can subscribe for 18 yuan per month or 180 yuan per year. Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Pixelmator Pro and other apps are also available as one-time purchases on the Mac App Store.
