Chery Executive: Automakers Bring Three Changes to Embodied Intelligence as Mojia Global Sales Top 3,000
On October 27, after the 2026 Mojia Robot global launch, Zhang Guibing, executive vice president of Chery Automobile, gave his first media interview as general manager of Mojia Robot, outlining three changes that automakers bring to the embodied intelligence sector: automotive-grade delivery capabilities, natural application scenarios, and precise scenario definition.
Zhang said Mojia has introduced automotive-grade quality systems into robot R&D and manufacturing, a key difference from most robotics startups. Automakers naturally own factory-floor scenarios and can develop robots for real job positions, while years of automotive user research enable more precise definition of use cases. He revealed that Mojia has sold over 3,000 robots globally, deployed across more than 100 application scenarios, and entered over 60 countries and regions.
On technology, Zhang stressed that about 70% of the underlying vehicle-robot synergy technology is reusable, covering areas such as electronics and embedded software that can draw directly on Chery's R&D resources. The remaining 30%, including motion control, navigation, model algorithms, and specialized modules, requires independent development. He acknowledged that the industry still faces challenges in motion control, chip costs, and long-term retention mechanisms.
Mojia is Chery's embodied intelligence brand, offering bipedal, quadrupedal, and wheeled robots for public security, medical, education, and other scenarios.
