Google DeepMind Launches Gemini 4 Carbon, Tops AI Index and Sets Cybersecurity Milestone

On October 29, 2026, Google DeepMind introduced Gemini 4 Carbon, its latest frontier model. The company said the model shows improved performance across domains, ranking first on the v5.0 Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index and setting a new state-of-the-art in cybersecurity and long-horizon capabilities.

Starting this week, the model is rolling out to cyber defenders through the Fairwind Program, with expanded access expected soon. Google DeepMind is Google's AI research organization and the team behind the Gemini model family.
