Google introduces next frontier model Gemini 4 Carbon

By AI123

On October 29, 2026, Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced the launch of Gemini 4 Carbon, the company's next frontier model. The release comes just two weeks after the debut of Argon, underscoring the pace of Google's model iteration.

According to Pichai, Gemini 4 Carbon ranks first on the recently updated v5.0 of the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index with a score of 59. It also leads key cybersecurity evaluations, scoring 88.2% on SEC-bench Pro for finding vulnerabilities, 54.8% on ExploitGym for exploitation, and 71.0% on CWE-bench for patching.

Pichai said the model shows significant improvements in long-horizon tasks compared with Argon, along with strengthened frontier safeguards. Google plans a gradual and responsible rollout: some trusted cyber defenders will get access starting this week, with access expanding to more partners through the Fairwind Program ahead of wider availability.
