Safeworld, founded by Carnegie Mellon University Safe AI lab director Ding Zhao with Kyle Wong and Simo Rachidi, exited stealth on Oct 5, 2026 to focus on safety evaluation for generative AI robots by testing robotic control systems in simulated environments. The company announced a seed round of more than $12 million led by Shine Capital and a16z Speedrun, with participation from Box Group, Carnegie Mellon University Endowment, Innovation Endeavors and SV Angel.
