Google has added Live Avatar to its Gemini 3.8 Live dialogue model, bringing a near-real-time visual persona to live conversations. The feature supports precise lip-syncing, natural expressions, fluid turn-taking, and background tool calls and data retrieval. Google offers preset avatars and lets enterprises create custom avatars from reference images, with access currently limited to an enterprise allowlist.
