Anthropic Picks Nasdaq for IPO, Plans to Raise at Least $86.3B
Anthropic, the AI unicorn, has selected the Nasdaq exchange as the venue for its initial public offering, according to multiple media reports. The company is reportedly planning to raise at least $86.3 billion, the amount SpaceX raised in its June IPO, with the earliest possible listing in October 2026.
Ahead of the listing, Anthropic disclosed preliminary results showing second-quarter 2026 revenue of over $11.5 billion, beating its internal forecast of $10.9 billion. Adjusted operating profit for the quarter reached $559 million, marking the company's first profitable quarter on that basis. Revenue grew nearly 15-fold year over year from $787 million in the same quarter of 2025.
People familiar with the matter said Anthropic has told shareholders it expects to remain profitable in the third quarter, which would mark a second consecutive quarter of profitability. Excluding revenue-sharing payments to partners such as Amazon and AI model training costs, the company's gross margin exceeds 80%. Based on current growth, its annualized revenue could surpass $65 billion.
Nasdaq has hosted several large IPOs this year, including SpaceX's $86.3 billion raise in June. Anthropic's listing would add to that momentum.
