Doubao Launches Consumer Version of Mobile Assistant, With First Agent Phone Set for Sept. 16

By AI123

On September 14, Doubao Mobile Assistant officially released its consumer version. Developed through system-level cooperation between the Doubao app and smartphone makers, the product focuses on improved stability and daily-use experience. Doubao is an AI assistant product from ByteDance.

The assistant supports wake-up via voice or an AI key with fingerprint authentication. It can answer questions based on screen content without requiring screenshots, perform linked tasks, locally search photos, messages and notes, and, through integration with Feishu Minutes, follow up on recorded content. Users can also complete cross-app tasks such as ride-hailing by voice.

The graphical interface agent feature is available in beta. Doubao also introduced the SAEP screen automation operation declaration protocol, allowing third-party apps to decide whether to enable AI automated operation permissions. The product includes an agent protection system, and a related privacy white paper is available on the official website.

The Nubia NaviX Ultra, which carries this version, has opened reservations and goes on sale September 16, becoming the industry's first AI agent phone to hit the market.
