Huawei First to Complete Broadband Impedance Tests on Main AIDC UPS Series
In September 2026, Huawei Digital Power announced that the latest commercial version of its UPS5000H had passed a broadband impedance scanning test conducted by the New Energy Institute of the China Electric Power Research Institute, and the new commercial version was officially released. The UPS5000H is Huawei's intelligent power distribution product for data centers, mainly used to provide high-reliability uninterruptible power for data center loads.
Earlier, the UPS5000E had completed broadband impedance testing and had been verified in continuous operation at a large data center under real grid conditions. With the UPS5000H now passing the test, both of Huawei's main AIDC UPS series—the UPS5000E and UPS5000H—have completed the relevant testing. Huawei has thus become the first vendor to complete broadband impedance testing across its main AIDC UPS series, a step for AIDC UPS products from reliable power supply toward reliable supply with grid-friendly characteristics.
The development comes as new power system construction and AI industry development accelerate in parallel. AIDC facilities are expanding from traditional data-center scale toward the 100 MW and gigawatt level, making large data centers increasingly significant power-electronics loads. To address grid safety challenges from carrying large-scale, high-proportion power-electronics loads, grid companies have organized joint technical research, with the CEPRI institute providing research and testing support and Huawei participating in product optimization and engineering verification. Previously, the UPS5000E's new commercial version passed testing and was upgraded at a large data center under actual grid conditions, with stable grid-connected operation.
Huawei said it will continue technical collaboration with grid research institutions, industry customers and partners under the guidance of national energy authorities and grid companies, promoting innovation, engineering verification and standards development for grid-connected safety in large data centers.
