Microsoft's October Event to Spotlight On-Device AI, With Nadella and Huang Set to Appear
Microsoft has announced a Windows and Surface event in San Francisco on October 7, focused on how on-device AI will shape the next chapter of the PC. CEO Satya Nadella, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, and Microsoft's Executive Vice President for Windows + Devices, Pavan Davuluri, are scheduled to attend and share the latest innovations across Windows, NVIDIA RTX Spark, Surface, and the broader PC ecosystem.
The event comes just months after NVIDIA unveiled its first system-on-a-chip for Windows, the RTX Spark, fueling expectations that Microsoft may reveal more details about the Surface Laptop Ultra, which is powered by that platform. The laptop was announced in June 2026, but its availability and pricing have not yet been disclosed. Other PC makers have also introduced their own RTX Spark devices.
Enabling AI agents to handle an increasing share of everyday computing tasks is a key part of the shared vision from Microsoft and NVIDIA for the future of computing. Microsoft has previously shown hardware concepts like Project Solara, while PCs capable of running AI models locally are seen as another cornerstone of that vision.
