JD Launches Qixian Chef With AI Meal Planning and Cooking Robots
On September 16, JD.com officially launched its new business, Qixian Chef, positioned as a "family healthy meal executive," and opened first-batch pre-sales in cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. The service combines AI-powered healthy meal planning, a prepared fresh-food supply chain, and intelligent cooking robots to bring tailored meal recommendations to family dining.
According to JD.com, after users upload health check reports and specify dietary preferences via the Qixian Chef mini program, the system generates phased meal plans and daily menus based on the Health Brain dietary AI model. Fresh ingredients are then delivered to the doorstep through cold-chain logistics, and an automated cooking robot completes the cooking process, forming a closed loop from meal planning to ingredient delivery and food preparation.
The company said the service relies on three modules: the Health Brain dietary AI model, which draws on professional nutritionist input and AI analysis to create personalized plans; a prepared fresh-food supply chain supported by JD's cold-chain network covering sourcing, testing, freshness preservation, washing, cutting and delivery; and an intelligent cooking robot developed with national banquet chef consultants to automate cooking and self-cleaning.
Qixian Chef also introduced a "Legacy Edition" that digitizes family recipes, including ingredient ratios, seasoning methods and cooking steps, allowing them to be recreated by the intelligent cooking robot. At the launch event, JD signed strategic cooperation agreements with Raffles Hospital, the UK Butler Association and Shiji Intelligent to integrate professional health management, high-end household services and broader health-channel distribution.
