OPPO Launches ColorOS 17, an AI-Driven OS That Anticipates User Needs
At the 2026 OPPO Developer Conference on September 17, 2026, OPPO unveiled ColorOS 17, positioning the new system as a "personalized AIOS." The key shift is that AI moves from responding to commands to proactively understanding user scenarios and delivering services at the right moment.
ColorOS 17 introduces features such as Xiaobu Space, AI One-Tap Memo, and Xiaobu Suggestions. Xiaobu Space acts as a personal task management hub, recognizing calendar events, chat invitations, movies, and trips, then consolidating them into to-do items. AI One-Tap Memo expands beyond meal code recognition to package pickup codes, contact info, and ticket-sale reminders, and attempts to understand the next action associated with the content. Xiaobu Suggestions has partnered with over 40 third-party services, covering more than 150 service categories and 700 sub-scenarios, offering proactive alerts for ordering food, long-distance travel, and more.
To improve location awareness, OPPO introduced self-developed swarm sensing technology, which can distinguish micro-locations like station entrances, passages, gates, and waiting areas. The company claims 95% prediction accuracy, covering metro lines in more than 30 cities nationwide. The companion fusion navigation fluid cloud integrates walking, bus, and metro routes into a continuous chain, providing transfer and exit guidance.
ColorOS 17 also includes a preview of "Xiaobu Next," an on-device AI agent framework that breaks complex tasks into multiple AI specialists. In imaging, an AI photo editor based on OPPO's self-developed Davinci vision model handles composite editing requests. AI Notes expands into a personal knowledge management space, and the system adds AI-powered screen reading for accessibility and AI fraud protection.
ColorOS 17 will debut on the OPPO Find X10 series and OnePlus 16, with a gradual rollout to more devices.
