Songyan Dynamics Unveils Scalabot Brand and Embodied AI Models
Songyan Dynamics, a Chinese humanoid robot maker, has unveiled its general-purpose embodied intelligence technology brand Scalabot, along with a series of models including HERON-CRA and HERON-World Model. Founder Jiang Zheyuan said in an interview that the company began building its embodied large model team in the second half of last year, and this year the team has become a major focus for capital investment, with spending continuing to increase.
The company, previously known mainly for robot hardware, is now expanding into the embodied "brain" segment. Jiang said the company has advantages in robot body and motion control, and now needs to strengthen its embodied intelligence capabilities. Despite entering the field relatively late, he believes the timing is appropriate as technical routes become clearer and talent has been assembled.
Songyan's models are not tied to a single robot platform and can support robots with different configurations and degrees of freedom. The company plans to build a continuously evolving data loop, in which perception and interaction data from real-world scenarios flows back to improve models, and upgraded models in turn enable robots to handle more complex tasks. Its embodied large models will first target home service scenarios before expanding to commercial services.
The company plans to start by collecting data in home environments using an unreleased new robot. Jiang said the initial deployment may involve several hundred robots, with the number later increasing to several thousand. He predicted that by 2029, robots could enter homes to perform most household chores out of the box. Compared with home scenarios, industrial environments place higher demands on delivery, deployment and scenario adaptation, and may require more gradual progress due to differences across industries.
