Google launches experimental AI agent CC for families and groups

By AI123

Google has introduced an experimental AI agent called CC, designed to help families and groups stay organized. The agent has its own Google account, which up to six family members can choose to share information with.

Users can choose which emails to share with the agent, either passing along single messages as needed or selecting addresses that are always forwarded to the CC account. CC also creates a shared calendar and task list visible to all group members, and sends everyone a daily briefing with upcoming events and to-dos. It can handle paperwork and logistics such as filling out registration forms or writing a shopping list, although those actions are designed to require user permission first.

CC is not a brand-new name. Google first unveiled an experimental tool called CC in December 2025, then rebranded it as Daily Briefing earlier in 2026. Now the company has repositioned CC as a family-centric organizer based on feedback from early testers. Users can add CC to a Drive folder, share files with it, or interact with it in a dedicated Google Chat window. According to Google's FAQ, CC cannot add or remove family members, and cannot access or search members' individual inboxes.

Existing CC users will be prompted to upgrade and try the new tools, while new users can join a wait list.
