AMD to Raise Chip Prices by About 10% in Q4 2026 Amid TSMC Cost Increase
AMD has reportedly notified multiple customers of a plan to raise prices across its chip lineup by about 10% starting in the fourth quarter of 2026, passing on higher wafer costs from TSMC. The increase reportedly covers AI accelerator chips, consumer GPUs, and motherboard chipsets, while Ryzen CPUs are not explicitly included.
According to supply chain channel firm ChannelGate, AMD intends to fully pass on the approximately 10% hike in TSMC's foundry quotes to downstream customers. Most of AMD's chips are manufactured by TSMC, and the higher wafer costs have pressured product margins, prompting the company to align its price increase with TSMC's adjustment.
Intel has also announced a further PC CPU price increase of about 10% effective October 5, 2026, marking its third round of increases since late 2025. The moves by the two major chipmakers are expected to heighten cost pressure on server vendors and PC brands.
AMD has not yet officially confirmed the reported price adjustment, which remains based on supply chain sources. Whether Ryzen CPUs will be included in the increase still requires further clarification from AMD.
