The 2026 China-ASEAN AI Industry Innovation Center Symposium was held on September 18 in Nanning, Guangxi. Themed "Building Consensus: AI Cooperation Paths for Strategic Planning, Industrial Empowerment and Governance", the event was hosted by the China-ASEAN AI Industry Innovation Center, the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT). Representatives from ASEAN countries including Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar and Timor-Leste attended.

Three cooperation outcomes were released. The China-ASEAN AI Industry Cooperation Expert Consensus outlines eight principles, including "people-centered and AI for good", and provides guidance for deeper collaboration. The "AI Navigator+: China-ASEAN Joint Action" uses Tencent WorkBuddy as its platform and agent engineering backbone, and aims to build a professional corpus covering policies, business information and cultural knowledge. The "Fangsheng ASEAN Evaluation Service System Co-building Plan" targets Southeast Asian languages, developing reusable standardized evaluation benchmarks and test scenarios for regional AI industries.

The symposium also featured thematic discussions on strategy, industry and governance, with speeches on AI-enabled digital ecosystems, AI infrastructure for industrial upgrading, and multilingual large models for ASEAN. Two roundtable discussions focused on regional digital cooperation and inclusive AI governance.
