AWS Bedrock Adds Moonshot AI's Kimi K3, Its First Open-Weight Model with Explicit Prompt Caching

By AI123

Amazon Bedrock, the AI platform under Amazon Web Services (AWS), has announced the integration of Kimi K3, an open-weight model developed by Moonshot AI, offering a new option for programming tasks.

According to the company, Kimi K3 is the first open-source model with 2.8 trillion parameters. It natively supports vision capabilities and features a 1 million-token context window, making it suitable for long-duration coding and multi-document analysis.

Amazon Bedrock will provide Kimi K3 with the same security boundary as its closed models, including unified access control, encryption, and auditing mechanisms. Kimi K3 is also the first open-weight model on Amazon Bedrock to support explicit prompt caching, which allows repeated use of context across multiple model calls to reduce latency and input costs.
