Huawei Cloud Launches HarmonyOS Coding Model in CodeArts Agent Upgrade
On September 21, Huawei Cloud announced a major upgrade to CodeArts, its coding agent for HarmonyOS developers, introducing a HarmonyOS coding large model, a HarmonyOS coding agent, and a HarmonyOS developer practice center. The company described it as the world's first and only AI coding agent purpose-built for the HarmonyOS ecosystem.
Powered by Huawei Cloud's HarmonyOS-enhanced training system, the coding large model integrates more than one million HarmonyOS-related samples, including over 100,000 high-quality HarmonyOS data items and full coverage of high-frequency HarmonyOS development components, along with APIs, development specifications, codebases, and component assets. It is deeply adapted to ArkTS and HarmonyOS development paradigms. According to Huawei Cloud, the model reduces errors per thousand lines of code by more than 80%, improves one-time compilation pass rate by more than 78%, and lowers token consumption per task by more than 20%.
The HarmonyOS coding agent covers the end-to-end workflow from requirement analysis and solution design to code writing and build, reducing repeated manual involvement. It includes a built-in DevEco CLI that can invoke HarmonyOS on-device simulators, making development results instantly visible and adjustable, and helping apps adapt to phones, tablets and other device form factors. The agent also provides a HarmonyOS knowledge base, third-party library conversion, and mini-program-to-atomic-service conversion, with documentation, APIs, and best practices updated in real time.
The HarmonyOS developer practice center combines cases from internal experts and ecosystem developers, offering entry-level to enterprise-grade examples. It connects cases, code repositories, and cloud environments so developers can open a browser and directly develop, compile, package and test in the cloud.
