LG, Microsoft Expand Partnership to AI Data Center Infrastructure
LG and Microsoft have agreed to expand their strategic partnership to cover AI data centers, physical AI, and AI transformation, according to an announcement on September 22.
As Microsoft scales up its global data center footprint, the companies will explore opportunities for LG to provide cooling, power, and IT infrastructure solutions. The initial focus will be on high-capacity cooling for AI data centers at key strategic locations, with plans to extend the collaboration to prefabricated data centers. LG, a South Korean company known for consumer electronics and home appliances, will also adopt Microsoft's AI and cloud platforms, including Copilot, across its office workforce, and use Microsoft cloud infrastructure to accelerate physical AI development.
