SpaceXAI launches Grok 4.7 for coding and professional work at unchanged prices
SpaceXAI on September 22 released Grok 4.7, its latest model designed for coding and professional knowledge work. The company says the model delivers improved benchmark performance, particularly on coding and terminal-use tasks, following a longer reinforcement-learning run and the addition of a new safeguard stack.
Grok 4.7 is priced at $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens, matching the rates of its predecessor Grok 4.6. SpaceXAI also offers a faster variant at twice the price ($4/$12), though it has not disclosed a tokens-per-second figure. The AI coding platform Cursor, recently acquired by SpaceXAI, provides a Fast tier for Grok 4.7 at the same doubled rate and sets Fast as the default for Pro and higher plans.
The model is available in Cursor, Grok Build and the Grok API, as well as through third-party coding harnesses, model routers and cloud platforms. GitHub is gradually rolling out Grok 4.7 across Copilot Pro, Pro+, Max, Business and Enterprise plans, with support for VS Code, Visual Studio, Copilot CLI, GitHub's cloud agent, JetBrains, Xcode and Eclipse.
Independent testing from Artificial Analysis shows that Grok 4.7 consumes significantly more output tokens per task than its predecessor, resulting in an estimated cost of about $3.74 per Intelligence Index task at its highest reasoning setting. SpaceXAI reports that Grok 4.7 scored 62.4% on LatchBio's biosafety benchmark and allowed only 3.3% of risky dual-use prompts through in HackerBench v0.3; these safety results have not yet been independently verified.
