Coherent Unveils PhotonLink Integrated Photonics Platform for AI Data Centers

Coherent, a global photonics technology supplier, unveiled its PhotonLink integrated photonics platform on September 21, local time. The platform combines lasers, silicon photonics, optical fiber, detectors and precision optics to support co-packaged optics (CPO), near-packaged optics (NPO) and chip-to-chip connectivity. The company said it is currently involved in more than 10 CPO and more than 10 NPO projects, as well as more than five chip-to-chip connectivity projects. Coherent expects revenue related to PhotonLink to start growing in the fourth quarter of 2026. It is also expanding capacity for 6-inch indium phosphide and specialty optical fiber.
