RoboParty Launches Open-Source Humanoid Robot Platform RP1 with Full-Stack Development Materials

By AI123

In October 2026, RoboParty launched RP1 (ROBOTO 01), a high-performance open-source humanoid robot platform, and released its full-stack development materials, including mechanical structure source files, engineering drawings, bill of materials (BOM), embedded software, simulation models, motion retargeting tools, and reinforcement learning training frameworks. The release marks the first time a humanoid robotics platform has opened its entire development chain to the community, seen by industry observers as a “Linux moment” for humanoid robots.

RP1 is 135 cm tall and offers 24 or 30 active degrees of freedom (excluding dexterous hands), with dynamic abilities such as walking, running, jumping, and obstacle traversal, and a single-arm payload of 5 kg. The open-source materials cover hardware, control, and intelligence layers: mechanical source files and BOMs are public, embedded runtime and hardware abstraction layer source code is open, and URDF/MJCF simulation models, Isaac Lab training frameworks, and Python SDKs are provided. The in-house HHTools supports motion retargeting and is compatible with more than 90% of mainstream humanoid robots.

RoboParty said the depth and modifiability of the open-source stack are intended to give research teams autonomy, allowing robots to adapt to research rather than requiring projects to conform to the platform. The open-source repositories are being released gradually on GitHub, and the technical whitepaper is available for download from the official website.
