Voxela Raises Series A to Expand Vision AI for Long-Term Care Incident Reports

By AI123

Voxela, a Fremont, California-based senior care technology company, said on September 22, 2026 that it has closed a Series A round led by Tokyo-based Delight Ventures. Participating investors included Sompo Growth Partners, Happiness Capital, Blue Heron Ventures, and existing backers. The company's total funding since its founding now stands at about $13.2 million; round size and valuation were not disclosed.

Founded in February 2022, Voxela develops a vision AI platform called VCare that analyzes video from standard network cameras. After an incident in a care facility, the system reads the footage within about 30 seconds and produces a draft report in minutes for staff to review and supplement. VCare also aggregates records to show where and when incidents have occurred. Most of Voxela's deployments are in Japan, where documentation and administrative tasks account for roughly half of caregivers' working hours, according to the company's interviews with facility staff.

At facilities using VCare, an incident report that once took about an hour is said to now take minutes. One rehabilitation hospital found that night-shift staff spent an average of 44 minutes less per night walking room to room over five measured nights. The company notes these figures come from measurements and staff interviews at individual facilities and are not a guarantee of results.

In the U.S., VCare is in use at a residential care home in Folsom, California, and the company completed a HIPAA compliance assessment in March 2026. Voxela plans to use the capital to hire AI and product engineers, extend the AI that automates documentation, expand deployments in Japan, and establish its U.S. commercial business.
