Lenovo Executives Outline AI Tablet Strategy: Focus on Students, Gaming and Content Creation
At a media briefing on September 23, 2026, several Lenovo executives outlined the company's AI tablet strategy. Zhang Hua, senior vice president of Lenovo and president of its China Consumer Business Group, said tablets are a natural vessel for AI, given their large screens, long battery life, portability and natural voice interaction. Lenovo will stick to user-driven innovation and use a monthly update mechanism to iterate products based on user feedback.
Li Weichang, vice president of Lenovo and general manager of China Consumer PC and Smart Device Business, said the team has observed college classroom scenarios to understand how students use tablets. Lenovo plans to let AI help turn classroom recordings, courseware and photos into notes. The company will continue to focus on college students, gaming and content creation. Li also said Lenovo plans to launch a software-hardware integrated content creation solution in October 2026, allowing some short-video creation to be completed locally and reducing reliance on cloud tokens.
Chen Ke, vice president of Lenovo and general manager of its tablet business unit, said the K12-oriented Xiaoxin series will launch a product in the fourth quarter of 2026 that can switch between a normal screen, black-and-white e-ink screen and color e-ink screen. Jia Zhaohui, senior vice president and head of Lenovo's global innovation center, said the company's personal AI strategy is built around one system with multiple endpoints, with Tianxi AI connecting PCs, phones and tablets and making tablets a large-screen interaction entry point.
