YouTube Music adds Ask Music and Your Podcast Lineup AI features
At its Made On YouTube event in 2026, YouTube announced two AI-powered features for YouTube Music: Ask Music, a conversational tool for music and podcast discovery, and Your Podcast Lineup, a personalized audio guide for finding new shows.
Ask Music is built directly into the YouTube Music app and lets users describe what they want to hear in everyday language instead of searching for individual songs or artists. It works across the platform's catalog of more than 300 million songs, including official recordings, remixes, live performances, covers, and DJ sets. Users can create custom listening queues, explore an artist's motivations, or ask about music history and track details, such as who played bass on a particular song.
Your Podcast Lineup appears on the podcast page in YouTube Music. Each week, it offers a short spoken preview of recommended shows, explains why they may appeal to the listener, and can move directly into suggested episodes. YouTube says the feature is designed for listeners who face more podcasts than they have time to hear.
YouTube said the features will roll out to YouTube Music and YouTube Premium subscribers worldwide. The announcement follows Spotify's introduction of a similar AI podcast feature, and comes after YouTube Music tested AI hosts that shared trivia and commentary in 2025.
