Logitech launches Yeti 2 with 3D sensor and AI noise reduction
Logitech has launched the Yeti 2, a modernized sequel to the Blue Yeti USB microphone. The original Blue Yeti has been a popular choice for podcasters and streamers since its debut in 2009, and the upgraded model introduces a 3D proximity sensor, an AI-powered denoiser, and a 1.3-inch LED display.
The 3D proximity sensor tracks the user's voice in space and automatically adjusts gain, EQ, and pickup patterns as the user moves. Automatic gain and tracking are enabled out of the box. An onboard AI denoiser is designed to cut unwanted background sounds such as mouse clicks and keystrokes, so users don't need to spend as much time fine-tuning microphone levels.
The microphone's LED display shows a Yeti mascot that provides visual feedback on gain and directional patterns, aiming to make the interface more approachable. Custom avatars can be set through Logitech's G Hub software.
The Yeti 2 features a redesigned three-capsule array, 24-bit/48kHz recording, multiple directional modes, a headphone jack for monitoring, a capacitive mute button, a physical control dial, and five stored presets. It is available now in black and white for $160 from Logitech and third-party retailers.
