Black Forest Labs unveils FLUX 3 Action, an open-weights robot model claiming top RoboLab-120 score
Black Forest Labs, the German AI startup known for its FLUX image and video models, has released FLUX 3 Action, a 7-billion-parameter open-weights robot model. The company says it achieves a 42.92% success rate on NVIDIA's RoboLab-120 benchmark, outperforming all models currently on the public leaderboard.
FLUX 3 Action is described as a "World Action Model" that converts camera observations, robot state, and natural-language instructions into physical actions. At 7B parameters, it uses just 44% of the parameters of NVIDIA's Cosmos3-Nano-Policy (16B) and runs 1.43 times faster. The score is 6.1 percentage points higher than Cosmos 3, the previous top open model on RoboLab.
BFL has also tested the architecture beyond physical robotics, including simulations, games, and computer use. The company trained task-specific policies to fly drones in real life and to complete the game Doom without deaths, calling these early experiments rather than production capabilities.
The company plans to release weights, code, fine-tuning recipes, benchmarks, and reproducible examples, including an implementation with the SO-101 robot and Hugging Face's LeRobot framework. No Action API, pricing, or commercial license terms have been announced yet.
